Network Foundations Technology (NiFTy) President To Speak Before Senate Committee On Broadband Initiatives

Washington D.C. May 12, 2010 – Network Foundation Technologies President and Co-founder Marcus Morton has been invited to speak and participate at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. The hearing, titled “Connecting Main Street to the World: Small Business Perspectives on Internet Access” will include a roundtable discussion between the Senate Committee members and invited guests representing businesses that utilize or depend on broadband Internet service as major component of their business model.

The National Broadband Plan, currently under consideration by the FCC, sets forth a number of recommendations that focus on growing entrepreneurship and economic opportunity, as it relates to broadband access. The focus of this roundtable will be to collect testimony and data to understand what specific needs that small businesses have with regard to broadband access, affordability, and adoption. NiFTy is one of several businesses invited to share its views and recommendations. Committee Chairperson Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La.) is scheduled to make the opening remarks.
